The unit basis prices (UBP) of compressed natural gas (CNG) and residential piped natural gas have been reduced by major city gas distribution (CGD) corporations, which is a huge relief for the transportation sector and consumers (PNG).
On Thursday, Adani Total Gas Limited announced a Rs 4.7 per kilogram decrease in CNG pricing for all 19 geographical areas. As a result, Ahmedabad’s CNG price will drop by Rs 3.48 per kg, from Rs 87.38 to Rs 83.90 per kg.
Similar to that, the company has also disclosed a price cut for PNG of up to Rs 3.20 per standard cubic metre (SCM).
The recent central government involvement has assisted the CGD industry in lowering the pricing of residential PNG and CNG for end users.
The domestic gas allocation was recently boosted by the Union Ministry of Petroleum and Natural Gas, but UBPs for the CNG and residential PNG segments decreased.
Even IRM Energy has lowered its CNG prices as on Wednesday by Rs 6 per SCM.
Even Torrent Gas decreased the cost of residential PNG and CNG on Thursday by Rs 5 per SCM.
This results in the domestic PNG price in Junagadh (provided by Torrent Gas) being revised down to Rs. 47 per SCM, including taxes, and the domestic CNG price being reduced down to Rs. 87 per kg, including taxes.
In a statement, Adani Gas Total said,”Adani Total Gas welcomes the continued support of the Union Ministry of Petroleum and Natural Gas to city gas distribution companies by way of the recent decision to increase the allocation of domestic gas and revise downward the Unified Base Price (UBP) applicable for CNG and Home PNG.” In a statement, Adani Gas Total said
