Gujarat Deputy Chief Minister Harsh Sanghavi on Friday flagged off 101 new buses of the Gujarat State Road Transport Corporation (GSRTC) in Gandhinagar ahead of Diwali. The initiative aims to strengthen public transport connectivity across the state and improve passenger convenience during the festive season. Minister of State for Transport Pravinbhai Mali was also present at the event.
In a gesture recognising the contribution of GSRTC employees, Sanghavi invited drivers, conductors and workshop staff to participate in the flag-off ceremony. He also announced that GSRTC employees would receive half a month’s salary in advance to help them celebrate Diwali.
Before the ceremony, Sanghavi interacted with GSRTC employees and extended Diwali and New Year greetings to them and their families.
The addition of 101 new buses is expected to improve passenger services and strengthen connectivity between rural and urban areas, particularly during the festive rush.
