Bhavnagar is gearing up to witness its first-ever aerial spectacle as the Indian Air Force’s (IAF) prestigious Suryakiran Aerobatic Team prepares to perform over Bortalav Lake on Sunday, November 1. The show will feature nine Hawk Mk-132 jet trainer aircraft executing precision manoeuvres, synchronised formations and spectacular aerial patterns incorporating the colours of the Indian national flag.
The excitement surrounding the event has already begun, with four aircraft from the aerobatic team carrying out a rehearsal over Bortalav Lake on Friday. During the practice session, the pilots created a heart-shaped formation in the sky, giving residents an early glimpse of the performance scheduled for Sunday.
Union Minister of State Nimuben Bambhaniya announced the programme during a press conference, thanking Union Defence Minister Rajnath Singh for his support in bringing the prestigious IAF air show to Bhavnagar for the first time.
Nine Aircraft to Deliver 30–40-Minute Aerobatic Performance
The main attraction will be a 30 to 40-minute display by nine Hawk Mk-132 aircraft, operated by the Suryakiran Aerobatic Team. The performance will include complex aerial formations, coordinated manoeuvres and precision flying demonstrations highlighting the colours of the Indian tricolour.
The show is scheduled to commence at approximately 10 am on Sunday. Besides showcasing the flying expertise and coordination of IAF pilots, the event is expected to familiarise spectators, particularly young people, with the Indian Air Force and encourage them to explore careers in the armed forces.
Special Arrangements for Visitors at Bortalav Lake
The district administration and Bhavnagar Municipal Corporation are jointly coordinating arrangements for the large gathering expected at the venue. Bambhaniya has invited residents to attend the programme with their families and experience the aerobatic performance.
Spectators have been advised to follow traffic instructions and cooperate with the authorities to ensure the smooth conduct of the event. Special attention has also been drawn to the safety of children and senior citizens. Visitors have been urged to maintain discipline, avoid littering and keep the surroundings clean throughout the programme.
