The Ahmedabad Municipal Corporation (AMC) Standing Committee has approved plans to introduce six new attractions and upgrade existing facilities at Kids City, located at Kankaria Lakefront.
The decision was announced by Standing Committee Chairman Kamleshbhai Patel following the committee’s weekly meeting on Thursday, October 29, 2026.
Under the proposed development, Kids City will get six new attractions, including a Chocolate Factory, Space Exploration Centre, ‘Khelo India’ Sports Academy, Renewable Energy Tech Centre, Aerodynamics and Flight Science Lab, and Drone Lab Centre.The committee has also approved the modernisation and upgradation of existing activities and facilities at Kids City.
The new attractions aim to provide children with more educational and recreational opportunities while introducing them to various fields, including space exploration, sports, renewable energy, aerodynamics and drone technology.
The proposals were among several issues discussed at the AMC Standing Committee meeting, which also covered city development projects, public health, water management, safety and festive arrangements.
