The Gujarat government is developing the Shri Krishna Museum in Dwarka at an estimated cost of ₹92.7 crore. Located around 1.6 km from the Dwarkadhish Temple, the museum aims to showcase the life, teachings and philosophy of Lord Krishna through modern technology and interactive exhibits.
The museum will feature nine thematic galleries depicting different stages of Lord Krishna’s life and his philosophical teachings. Beyond traditional displays, the facility will use digital technology to create an engaging experience for visitors.
The project will also include landscaped gardens, a lotus pond, a light-and-sound projection show and an amphitheatre, making it a centre for spirituality, education and cultural activities.
Nine Galleries to Showcase Lord Krishna’s Life
A major attraction will be the galleries tracing Lord Krishna’s journey from his birth to his childhood in Gokul and Vrindavan, along with important events from his life.
Visitors will learn about episodes such as Lord Krishna lifting Govardhan Hill, subduing Kaliya Naga and performing the Raas Leela. The exhibits will also depict his journey to Mathura, the killing of Kansa, the establishment of the golden city of Dwarka and his significant role in the Mahabharata.
Through its combination of storytelling, digital exhibits and cultural attractions, the Shri Krishna Museum aims to offer visitors an opportunity to explore the spiritual and philosophical significance of Lord Krishna’s life.
