Three men suspected of being involved in the shooting incident targeting Bollywood actor Tiger Shroff’s vehicle in Mumbai have been arrested in Kota, Rajasthan, police said on Monday. According to Kota City Police Superintendent Tejaswani Gautam, the accused were allegedly attempting to reach Nepal through Delhi to evade arrest.
The arrests were carried out by a joint team of the Rajasthan Anti-Gangster Task Force (AGTF) and Kota City Police after Mumbai Police shared intelligence about the suspects’ movements. Investigators tracked their route using CCTV footage and found that they had boarded the Pune–Jaipur Express after fleeing towards Surat. Acting on the information, Kota Police searched the train and detained the three suspects within 15 minutes. The train reached Kota Junction at around 10.30 am.
The arrested individuals have been identified as Rehan, a resident of Sonipat, Hritik, who hails from Bihar, and a minor. Gautam said two of them were allegedly involved in firing the shots, while the third was working as a bike taxi rider. Hritik was also employed as a bike taxi rider, while the other two worked as labourers. No firearms were recovered during their arrest.
Speaking at a press conference, Gautam said the operation followed information received from Mumbai Police’s Deputy Commissioner of Police (Crime). She added that Anil Pandit had allegedly directed Rehan. Two of the accused reportedly have previous criminal cases, including offences under the Arms Act and cases related to bike theft. Mumbai Police is expected to provide further details about their records after interrogation.
Maharashtra Chief Minister Devendra Fadnavis confirmed the arrests, crediting the coordination between Mumbai Police and Rajasthan Police. He said the suspects had travelled towards Surat following the shooting before boarding the Pune–Jaipur Express. After receiving information from Mumbai Police, Kota Police intercepted the train and arrested them at the station.
Fadnavis said Mumbai Police would take the accused to Mumbai after completing the required legal procedures. He added that investigators would examine the case in detail to identify any additional suspects and establish who may have planned or ordered the attack. He also assured that those found responsible would face action.
The shooting took place around 7 pm on Sunday near Pushpa Narsee Park in Mumbai’s Vile Parle area. Police registered a case against three unidentified men accused of firing five rounds at Shroff’s vehicle. The actor escaped unharmed, but his driver, Firdosh, and a bystander, Umesh Chavan, suffered bullet injuries. Police have recorded the driver’s statement, and the Mumbai Police and Crime Branch are investigating the case.
Following the incident, Mumbai Police deployed 15 teams to trace the suspects and investigate the circumstances surrounding the attack.
