Rajinikanth-starrer Jailer 2 has crossed the Rs 200 crore mark at the worldwide box office within two days of its theatrical release. The action entertainer, featuring Mohanlal and Vidya Balan alongside the superstar, earned Rs 35.60 crore net in India on Friday, October 16, according to Sacnilk. However, the film witnessed a drop in domestic collections after its strong opening.
With its second-day earnings, the film’s total India net collection reached ₹95.30 crore, while its domestic gross stood at Rs 112.10 crore. Overseas markets contributed a further Rs 97 crore in cumulative gross earnings, taking the film’s worldwide box office collection to Rs 209.10 crore in its first two days.
Jailer 2 Day 2 Collection: Language-Wise Breakdown
On Friday, Jailer 2 earned Rs 35.60 crore net across 13,157 shows in India. This represented a decline of approximately 40.4% from its opening-day collection of Rs 59.70 crore net on Thursday. The film recorded an overall theatre occupancy of 48.2% on its second day, compared with 55.4% on Day 1.
The Tamil version remained the biggest contributor to domestic earnings, collecting Rs 25.25 crore from 7,243 shows at an occupancy rate of 61%. The Telugu version earned Rs 7.25 crore across 1,940 shows, with occupancy at 54.3%.
The Hindi version collected Rs 2.75 crore from 3,850 shows, recording 21% occupancy. Meanwhile, the Kannada version contributed Rs 35 lakh from 124 shows, with an occupancy rate of 46%. Together, the four language versions accounted for the reported second-day India net collection.
Jailer 2 Theatre Occupancy on Friday
The Tamil 2D version recorded an overall occupancy of 63% on Friday. Morning screenings registered 39.54% occupancy, which increased to 57.08% in the afternoon and 69.46% in the evening. Night shows performed the strongest, reaching 85.92%.
The Telugu 2D version reported 53.94% overall occupancy. Morning shows recorded 32.36%, followed by 52.27% in the afternoon, 55.18% in the evening and 73.64% at night.
For the Hindi 2D version, overall occupancy stood at 26.83%. Morning screenings registered 11.75%, afternoon shows recorded 23.50%, evening shows saw 20.92%, and night screenings reached 44.17%.
Jailer 2 Box Office Collection: Two-Day Figures
According to the reported figures, Jailer 2 recorded 2,383,879 footfalls across India on Day 2. Its cumulative footfall during the first two days reached 6,130,613.
The film’s domestic gross collection stood at Rs 112.10 crore, while its India net earnings reached Rs 95.30 crore. With overseas gross collections contributing Rs 97 crore, the Rajinikanth-led film accumulated a worldwide gross of Rs 209.10 crore within two days of release.
The film opened in cinemas amid considerable fan excitement, with enthusiastic responses reported around early screenings. Despite the decline in domestic earnings on its second day, crossing the Rs 200 crore worldwide milestone marks a significant early achievement for the action sequel.
