The Ahmedabad Municipal Corporation (AMC) carried out a major anti-encroachment drive across Naranpura, Ranip, Paldi and Nava Vadaj, demolishing six commercial shops and nearly 80 temporary and permanent structures to reclaim reserved plots and clear Town Planning (TP) roads.In a parallel operation in the East Zone, civic enforcement teams removed six illegal sheds, seized commercial materials and clamped 41 vehicles, collecting administrative fines of Rs 26,900.
The coordinated drive targeted encroachments on municipal land and roads earmarked for infrastructure development. The action enabled civic authorities to take possession of reserved plots and clear obstructed stretches, including the road leading to Shreyas Metro Station.
AMC Reclaims Reserved Plots in Naranpura and Ranip
In Naranpura ward, estate department teams carried out proceedings to take possession of Reserved Final Plot No. 592 under TP Scheme No. 29 (Naranpura, Second Variation) at Rannapark.Six permanent commercial shops spread across approximately 350 square metres were demolished, after which the AMC took possession of the municipal plot.In Ranip ward, officials cleared Final Plot No. 295/1 under Preliminary TP Scheme No. 66 (Ranip-Chenpur-Chandlodia). A total of 19 temporary and permanent structures were removed from the 2,800-square-metre plot, enabling the corporation to secure possession of the land.
East Zone Crackdown: Illegal Sheds Removed, Vehicles Clamped
The anti-encroachment drive also extended to Ahmedabad’s East Zone, where civic teams removed six illegal sheds and seized various commercial materials obstructing public spaces.Enforcement teams also clamped 41 vehicles and collected Rs 26,900 in administrative fines as part of the action against unauthorised occupation and obstruction.
AMC to Continue Anti-Encroachment Operations
The civic body said such operations would continue to keep Town Planning roads free of obstructions and protect reserved municipal plots from unauthorised construction.The drive is part of the AMC’s efforts to reclaim public land, facilitate planned infrastructure development and improve road access across the city.
