Ahmedabad is making strides in urban development with the construction of its first rotary parking facility at Ratanpol junction, near Relief Road. This area is known for heavy traffic and limited parking options.
The Ahmedabad Municipal Corporation (AMC) has initiated this project to address the growing need for organized parking in one of the city’s busiest commercial zones. The innovative design allows for approximately 12 cars to be parked where only two could traditionally fit.
Officials pointed out that this represents a sixfold increase in parking capacity within the same space. “This will change how we view urban parking,” said an AMC representative. “We’re focusing on making it more efficient and user-friendly for everyone visiting this busy area.”
The rotary system is expected to ease congestion around Relief Road by optimizing space and streamlining the flow of vehicles, thus reducing the time drivers spend searching for roadside spots.
This modern approach to parking not only maximizes land use but also enhances safety and organization. As foot traffic continues to rise in commercial districts, such solutions are becoming increasingly necessary.
The completion of this project is anticipated to greatly benefit traders, shoppers, and visitors alike by providing a secure and systematic way to park. As construction proceeds, many are hopeful that it will significantly improve traffic management in the bustling Relief Road vicinity.
