A 12-year-old boy died in a lift accident at Shanti Shukra Society in Ahmedabad’s Narol area on Tuesday.
According to the information available, the child was returning home from school and used the lift to reach the upper floor. During the journey, the lift reportedly developed a technical fault and fell suddenly. The child suffered serious injuries after getting trapped in the lift.
Residents rushed to the spot after hearing the commotion and tried to help, but the child could not be saved. His death has left the family and society residents in shock and mourning.
The incident has also raised concerns about lift safety in residential societies. Regular maintenance, timely safety inspections and immediate attention to technical faults are essential to prevent such accidents.
