With Durga Puja and the festive season expected to bring a sharp increase in passenger traffic, Western Railway’s Ahmedabad Division has announced a special train between Ahmedabad and Santragachi. The additional service is aimed at providing more travel options to passengers heading towards eastern India and easing the pressure on regular long-distance trains, many of which are witnessing heavy demand during the festive period.
Ahmedabad-Santragachi Special Train Schedule
Train No. 02833, Ahmedabad-Santragachi Special, will depart from Ahmedabad at 2.25 pm on September 22 and reach Santragachi at 3.30 am on the third day of its journey.
In the return direction, Train No. 02834, Santragachi-Ahmedabad Special, will depart from Santragachi at 12.15 pm on September 20 and reach Ahmedabad at 1.50 pm the following day. The special service will operate in both directions according to the announced schedule.
Stops At Major Stations
The train will halt at several important stations along the route to facilitate passengers from different regions. Its scheduled stoppages include Anand, Vadodara, Bharuch, Surat, Nandurbar, Bhusawal, Badnera, Nagpur, Gondia, Durg, Raipur, Bilaspur, Jharsuguda, Rourkela, Chakradharpur, Tatanagar and Kharagpur.
The route will provide an additional travel option for passengers heading towards major cities and towns in Maharashtra, Chhattisgarh, Odisha, Jharkhand and West Bengal during the festive rush.
General, Sleeper And AC Coaches
The special train will have General Second Class, Sleeper Class and Third AC coaches. Special fares will apply to passengers travelling on the service.
Reservation for Train No. 02833 has commenced through Passenger Reservation System (PRS) counters and the official IRCTC platform. Passengers planning festive travel can book their tickets in advance to avoid last-minute rush and limited availability on regular services.
