A bomb threat naming Gujarat’s Somnath Temple, the BJP headquarters at Kamalam in Koba, Gandhinagar, and the party’s state office in Khanpur, Ahmedabad, triggered a security alert across the state.
Soon after the threatening email was received, police teams, fire brigade personnel and bomb disposal squads were deployed at the locations. Security personnel launched detailed searches of the premises, while additional security was put in place around the BJP offices and other sensitive locations.
Somnath Temple Also Named In Threat
The threat reportedly mentioned several prominent locations, including the Somnath Temple, BJP headquarters Kamalam in Koba and the Gujarat Pradesh BJP office in Khanpur. Following the alert, police and other security agencies carried out searches with the assistance of bomb detection and dog squads.
Authorities are continuing to examine the premises and verify the contents and origin of the threatening email. Security arrangements have also been strengthened around the locations named in the message.
Similar Threats Reported Earlier
The latest threat comes days after several schools and court premises in Gujarat reportedly received similar bomb threats, triggering security checks and evacuations at some locations.
Investigators had examined the threatening emails in those cases and were looking into possible links to pro-Khalistan elements. Police are now examining whether the latest email is connected to the earlier threats and are working to identify its sender.
No explosive device has been reported so far, and the investigation remains underway.
