Netflix has unveiled the trailer for Lust Stories 3, bringing together four filmmakers Vikramaditya Motwane, Kiran Rao, Shakun Batra and Vishal Bhardwaj for a new collection of stories centred on love, desire and complicated relationships.
The upcoming season explores different shades of attraction and relationships through four distinct stories. The trailer offers glimpses of characters dealing with emotions, choices and unexpected situations, with each story carrying its own style while exploring the complexities of human desire.
The series features an ensemble cast that includes Radhika Apte, Konkona Sen Sharma, Aditi Rao Hydari, Radhika Madan, Sana Thampi, Vijay Varma, Abhishek Banerjee, Siddharth, Ali Fazal and Gurfateh Pirzada.
Speaking about his segment, Vikramaditya Motwane said he was drawn to the idea of exploring what happens when the familiarity of everyday life comes into conflict with the desire for something unexpected. He said the story allowed him to approach the subject with warmth, humour and unpredictability.
Kiran Rao said her story examines how an initial attraction can develop into something more complicated. She added that she was interested in exploring how desire can encourage people to take unexpected risks and how those decisions can lead to unforeseen consequences.
Shakun Batra said his segment focuses on the uncertainty that can exist within relationships, where affection, insecurity, attraction and frustration may coexist. He said the story explores these emotional contradictions without judging the characters or offering simple answers.
The trailer sets the stage for four stories that examine how desire can influence decisions and relationships in unexpected ways. Directed by Vikramaditya Motwane, Kiran Rao, Shakun Batra and Vishal Bhardwaj, Lust Stories 3 will premiere on Netflix on September 18.
