A video showing five youths performing a dangerous stunt on a motorcycle at Ahmedabad’s Sabarmati Riverfront has gone viral on social media, prompting police action.The video reportedly shows four youths seated on the motorcycle while another hangs from its side as the bike moves at high speed. Police said the stunt endangered the lives of the youths as well as other people using the riverfront.Following the video’s circulation, Riverfront West Police traced the motorcycle and registered a case against two youths.
Stunt Filmed Near Income Tax Bridge
The incident was reportedly recorded on the stretch between Usmanpura Riverfront and the Income Tax Bridge. Four youths were seen travelling on the motorcycle, while 18-year-old Jashwant Solanki allegedly hung from the side of the moving vehicle.The motorcycle also reportedly had “Ramadhani” displayed on its rear number plate instead of the registration number, adding to the traffic violations.
Police Trace Motorcycle Through Number Plate
After the video surfaced, Riverfront West Police launched an investigation and traced the motorcycle using its front number plate.The probe found that the motorcycle was registered in the name of Teenaben Parmar, a resident of Shahpur. Police subsequently visited the registered address and questioned people linked to the vehicle.
20-Year-Old Rider Booked
Police identified 20-year-old Hardik Vaghela as the alleged rider at the time of the stunt. According to the investigation, three minors were seated behind him, while Jashwant Solanki was hanging from the side of the motorcycle.During questioning, Hardik reportedly told police that he and his friends had gone out for a ride on August 29, when the stunt was performed and recorded.Police have registered a case against Hardik Vaghela and Jashwant Solanki. Further investigation and legal proceedings are underway.
