The Ahmedabad City Tennis Foundation (ACTF) in Navrangpura will host the ITF J30 tennis tournament from Monday, the Gujarat State Tennis Association (GSTA) said.
The tournament will be played across nine hard synthetic courts, with players from India, the US, China, Australia, the UK and Korea taking part.In the boys’ category, Ahmedabad’s Om Patel is the top seed, while Maharashtra’s Pradnyesh Shelke is seeded second. In the girls’ category, Vadodara’s Shaivi Patel is the top seed and Mariya Patel is the second seed.
Tournament director Ranjit Thakor said the organisers aim to make Ahmedabad a strong destination for junior tennis and provide local players with more opportunities to compete at international standards.
Eight wild cards have been awarded to Gujarat players, with two main-draw and two qualifying spots each in the boys’ and girls’ categories.
