As many as 2,162 medical and dental seats remained vacant in Gujarat after the first round of undergraduate admissions for the 2026-27 academic year, according to data released by the Admission Committee for Professional Undergraduate and Postgraduate Medical Educational Courses (ACPUGMEC).
The vacant seats include 1,537 MBBS seats and 625 BDS seats, as per data released by the committee on September 5.Of the vacant MBBS seats, 785 were not allotted, while candidates failed to report for 752 allotted seats. In the BDS category, 158 seats were not allotted, while candidates did not report for 467 seats.The Round 1 reporting process began on August 29.
