Gujarat Vidyapith has opened the second phase of admissions to its PhD programmes for 2026, offering 43 seats across 13 disciplines to candidates who have qualified in the UGC-NET examination.
The university introduced UGC-NET qualification as the basis for PhD admissions last year. In the first phase of admissions for 2026, it had offered 23 seats.
Candidates who qualified for UGC-NET in June 2025, December 2025 or June 2026 are eligible to apply for the second phase.
The available seats are spread across 13 disciplines, including microbiology, economics, rural management, history, physical education, Gandhian thought, social work, sociology, computer science, journalism and mass communication, English, education and yoga.
Eligible candidates have been asked to submit their applications by September 9.
The second phase gives research aspirants another opportunity to seek admission after the completion of the first round, as Gujarat Vidyapith continues with its revised UGC-NET-based admission process for the 2026 academic year.
