Hanuman Ansh delivered another major box-office surprise on its 26th day in theatres, earning Rs 8.07 crore on Tuesday, September 1. The film comfortably surpassed Yash-starrer Toxic: A Fairy Tale for Grown-ups, which earned Rs 6.90 crore across all languages on its seventh day.
The difference between the two stood at Rs 1.17 crore, with Hanuman Ansh earning nearly 17% more than Toxic despite being in theatres for almost four weeks.
The September 1 figures also marked a new milestone for Hanuman Ansh. For the first time since its release, the film topped the daily India box-office rankings across all languages, emerging as the highest-grossing film in the country for the day.
What makes the achievement particularly remarkable is the film’s modest beginning. Hanuman Ansh opened with relatively low collections and initially appeared to have limited potential at the box office. However, strong word of mouth gradually changed its fortunes, with rising audience demand prompting exhibitors to add more shows.
The film has also defied the usual box-office pattern. Most releases record their strongest collections during the opening weekend before witnessing a gradual decline. Hanuman Ansh, however, has followed an unusual upward trajectory, gaining momentum several weeks after its release.
