Five cars and a BRTS bus were involved in a minor pile-up at the Akhbarnagar underbridge connecting Akhbarnagar Circle towards Pragati Cross Roads on Monday. No injuries were reported, though the vehicles suffered minor damage.
Sudden braking triggers chain collision
According to preliminary information, the accident occurred after a vehicle travelling through the underbridge allegedly braked suddenly. Vehicles following it could not stop in time and crashed into each other, leading to a chain collision involving five cars. A BRTS bus was also caught in the pile-up.
No passenger or driver was injured in the incident.
Traffic police clear road
Personnel from the ‘B’ Division of the Ahmedabad Traffic Police reached the spot soon after the accident and cleared the affected stretch.
The vehicles involved were removed from the roadway, allowing traffic through the underbridge to resume. Police said the vehicles sustained only minor damage.
Further investigation is underway to determine the exact circumstances that led to the collision.
