Vadodara-Mundra Air-Taxi Service Takes Off

A new air connection between Vadodara and Mundra has commenced operations, giving passengers a direct and faster travel option between the two Gujarat cities.

Vadodara MP Hemang Joshi announced the launch of the service on Friday. The operator has listed August 28 as the starting date for flights on the Vadodara-Mundra-Vadodara sector.

The service will operate with multiple morning departures from Vadodara. As per the schedule, flights to Mundra are planned at 6.30 am, 6.55 am, 7.20 am and 7.45 am. The first three departures are scheduled daily, while the fourth will operate on Sundays. Return flights from Mundra have also been planned on selected days.

The new route is part of efforts to expand short-distance air connectivity within Gujarat. Smaller aircraft and air-taxi services have been proposed as an alternative for travellers covering routes that otherwise require several hours by road.

The Vadodara-Mundra connection also adds to the operator’s network linking key destinations across the state. Existing routes include Mundra with Jamnagar, Diu and Rajkot.

The service is expected to be useful for passengers travelling for business and industrial purposes. Mundra is a major port and logistics centre, while Vadodara is an important industrial city, making a direct air link between the two locations particularly relevant for commercial travel.

The launch also marks another step towards improving connectivity between Gujarat’s industrial and port regions through short-haul air services.
