LPG consumers who have not yet completed their e-KYC have limited time to complete the process, with the deadline extended to August 23. The requirement applies to eligible consumers of Indane, Bharat Gas and HP Gas who have not completed Aadhaar-based authentication.
The biometric e-KYC process involves Aadhaar authentication through facial recognition and can be completed using the respective oil marketing companies’ mobile applications. Consumers who have already completed their e-KYC do not need to repeat the process.
LPG E-KYC Deadline
Oil marketing companies extended the LPG e-KYC deadline to August 23 from the earlier August 16 deadline. The extension followed reports of heavy demand on online portals, queues at LPG distributors and technical issues affecting the authentication process. Consumers who have not yet completed the verification are advised to do so before the revised deadline.
Documents and Details Required
Consumers generally need:
- Aadhaar number or Aadhaar card
- Mobile number registered with the LPG connection
- LPG consumer number or ID
- AadhaarFaceRD application for facial authentication
How to Complete LPG E-KYC
For Indane Gas
Indane consumers can use the IndianOil One application. After logging in with the registered mobile number, consumers can link their 16-digit LPG ID and access the e-KYC option through the My Profile section.
For Bharat Gas
Bharat Gas consumers can use the Hello BPCL application. The e-KYC option is available on the app’s homepage. After selecting it, consumers may be asked to complete OTP verification using the mobile number registered with their LPG connection.
For HP Gas
HP Gas consumers can use the HP Pay application. After logging in, select the My HP option and access the e-KYC facility.
Face Authentication
Once the e-KYC process is initiated, consumers will be shown instructions relating to face authentication. After giving the required consent, the front camera will be activated to capture the consumer’s face. Follow the on-screen instructions and complete the authentication. A confirmation or successful authentication message should appear once the process is completed.
What Happens If You Do Not Complete E-KYC?
Consumers who fail to complete the required e-KYC may face restrictions on their LPG services, depending on the applicable rules of the oil marketing company. Reports have also indicated that some connections could be temporarily suspended until authentication is completed. Consumers should therefore complete the e-KYC process before August 23 to avoid potential disruption to their LPG services or benefits.
Note: Consumers who have already completed the required e-KYC do not need to undergo the process again.
