On the first Monday of Shravan, Jamnagar Home Guards launched a special safety drive for devotees walking to Bholeshwar Mahadev Temple on Lalpur Road.
A large number of devotees travel on foot to the temple every Sunday night during Shravan. To reduce the risk of accidents and make the pilgrims more visible to motorists in the dark, Home Guards personnel placed radium reflectors on their clothes and at other key spots.
The initiative was aimed at helping motorists spot pedestrians from a safe distance while travelling along the road at night. The Home Guards actively participated in the service, which was appreciated for prioritising the safety of devotees.
With the number of pilgrims expected to rise during Shravan, motorists have also been urged to drive carefully at night and cooperate in ensuring the safety of pedestrians.
