Commuting to Ahmedabad’s Apparel Park Metro Station has become easier with the launch of two new AMTS feeder bus services aimed at improving last-mile connectivity for metro passengers.
Ahmedabad Mayor Hiteshbhai Barot inaugurated Feeder Route 8 (Circular) and Feeder Route 9 (Anti-Circular) on Saturday. Both routes will start and end at Apparel Park Metro Station (New Cotton Mill), covering a total distance of 9.95 km.
The services will connect the metro station with several residential, commercial and public areas, including Bhalkiya Mill, Grain Market, Madrasi Mandir, L.G. Hospital, Krishnabagh, Maninagar Terminus, Dakshini Society, Ashapuri Society (Awakar Hall), Gujarat Housing Board (Haripura), Hatkeshwar Circle and Amraiwadi.
AMTS has deployed one bus on each route. A total of 32 trips will be operated daily, with 16 trips on each route. The buses will run at intervals of around 40 to 45 minutes.
The fare has been kept affordable at ₹5 for adults and ₹3 for children, providing passengers with a low-cost option for travelling between the metro station and nearby areas.
The feeder services are expected to improve integration between Ahmedabad’s metro and city bus networks by providing convenient last-mile connectivity. The buses will operate from the Jamalpur depot using SMC-type buses.
AMTS has appealed to citizens to use metro and feeder bus services to promote affordable, convenient and environment-friendly public transport in the city.
