The Ahmedabad Municipal Corporation (AMC) Health Department has sealed Metro Shopping Center in Vastral after detecting waterlogging and mosquito breeding at multiple spots within the complex.
The action was taken during an inspection conducted as part of the civic body’s ongoing drive to prevent mosquito-borne diseases. A Health Department team visited several locations in the Vastral area and inspected the shopping centre for potential mosquito breeding sites.
Officials found stagnant water and mosquito breeding in different parts of the complex, raising concerns over the risk of mosquito-borne diseases in the area.
Following the inspection, the AMC initiated action under the applicable provisions and sealed the shopping centre. The civic body said inspections and preventive measures would continue across Ahmedabad to identify and eliminate mosquito breeding sites and curb the spread of mosquito-borne diseases.
