The India Meteorological Department (IMD) has issued a fresh weather alert for Gujarat, warning of heavy to extremely heavy rainfall over the next three hours, until 4 pm.
According to the latest Nowcast bulletin, a red alert has been issued for Mahisagar and Panchmahal districts due to the possibility of extremely heavy rainfall. Residents and local authorities in these areas have been advised to remain alert.
Meanwhile, an orange alert has been issued for 13 districts, including Ahmedabad, with moderate to heavy rainfall likely during the next three hours.
The districts under the orange alert are Ahmedabad, Gandhinagar, Kheda, Anand, Vadodara, Chhota Udepur, Aravalli, Dahod, Narmada, Tapi, Dang, Surendranagar and Botad.
The weather department has also forecast light rain showers and cloudy conditions in several parts of Saurashtra, Kutch and North Gujarat.
Residents in the affected areas have been advised to stay updated on weather conditions and follow instructions issued by local authorities.
