The AMC Dental College and Hospital in Khokhra, Ahmedabad, will add six new postgraduate seats for Master of Dental Surgery (MDS) courses, taking the total number of seats in the two concerned departments to 12.
The additional seats have been approved for the Department of Orthodontics and the Department of Conservative Dentistry, with three seats being added to each department. The approval was granted by the Government of India’s Ministry of Health and Family Welfare (Dental Education Section) through an order dated March 27, 2026.
Currently, both departments have three MDS seats each. With the addition of the new seats, the intake capacity will increase to six seats in each department.
Renovation work is underway in both departments. According to the AMC Dental College, the facilities are being upgraded with modern equipment and infrastructure, and both departments will be fully air-conditioned.
The college said admissions to the newly approved MDS seats are expected to begin in the current academic year.
