The proposed extension of train No. 19223/19224 from Sabarmati to Jammu Tawi up to Shri Mata Vaishno Devi Katra (SMVD Katra) has moved forward, with the Railway Board working out a tentative timetable after discussions held on July 30, 2026.
Under the proposed schedule, train No. 19223 will continue from Sabarmati to SMVD Katra. It will leave Sabarmati at 10:25 am and is expected to reach Katra at 6:55 pm.
The return service will leave SMVD Katra at 4:50 am and reach Sabarmati at 2:05 pm. The train is proposed to run daily.
The train will reach Palanpur at 1:20 pm and leave at 1:22 pm. At Jammu Tawi, it will arrive at 3:30 pm and depart at 3:35 pm. A halt at SMVD Katra will be added under the extension.
On the return journey, the proposed halt at Jammu Tawi is from 7:35 am to 7:40 am, while the train will halt at Palanpur from 10:55 am to 10:57 am.
New station halt proposed
The Railway Board has also proposed a new stoppage at Martyr Captain Tushar Mahajan station as part of the extension.
No additional train rake will be required, as the existing rake will be used for the extended service.
Timings of other trains to change
The extension will require changes to the timings of several other trains. These include:
- Train 22478 SVDK–NDLS: Departure from SVDK proposed at 5:40 am instead of 5:45 am.
- Train 14605 YNRK–SVDK: Halt at Jammu Tawi to be reduced to five minutes, with arrival at SVDK proposed at 4:55 am instead of 5:05 am.
- Train 15656 SVDK–KYQ/14612 SVDK–GCT: Departure from SVDK proposed at 3:40 am instead of 3:50 am.
- Train 22401 DEE–MCTM AC Express: Arrival at MCTM proposed at 9:40 am instead of 8:40 am.
- Train 74909 PTK–MCTM DEMU: Timings at Jammu Tawi and MCTM proposed to be revised.
- Train 16031 MAS–SVDK and linked services: Timings may be revised, with arrival at SVDK proposed at 11:50 am instead of 10:45 am.
- Train 74906 MCTM–PTK: Departure from MCTM will be revised from the existing 7:35 am.
The timings prepared by the Railway Board are tentative and have been worked out in consultation with the concerned railway zones.
