The Gujarat Technological University (GTU) is gearing up to launch a new Center of Excellence focused on Very Large Scale Integration (VLSI). This initiative aims to enhance research and skill development in the semiconductor domain, which is crucial for India’s technological advancement.
Officials announced that the center will provide resources and training for students and professionals interested in VLSI technologies. The initiative comes amid rising demand for skilled professionals in this field, spurred by global trends towards improved electronics.
The inauguration event is scheduled for next month, with plans to bring in industry experts who will share insights and help shape the curriculum. “We believe this will bridge the gap between academia and industry,” said Dr. K.P. Sinha, Dean of Engineering at GTU.
This move aligns with India’s broader goal of becoming a global hub for semiconductor research and manufacturing. And it reflects growing investments from both public and private sectors aimed at boosting local capabilities.
