The Nagar Primary Education Committee (NPEC), which manages municipal primary schools under the Vadodara Municipal Corporation (VMC), is set to introduce a mobile application aimed at making its administrative processes completely paperless while improving student attendance monitoring.
The app, expected to be launched within the next 15 to 20 days, has been designed for both teachers and education committee officials. It will provide real-time updates on student attendance, allowing administrators to monitor the number of students present and absent in every class.
One of the key features of the application is an automated attendance alert system. If a student remains absent for more than 10 consecutive days, the concerned teacher will receive an instant alert on their mobile phone. The teacher will then contact the student’s parents to ascertain the reason for the prolonged absence and take necessary follow-up measures. Officials believe the feature will help reduce school dropout rates.
Administrative Officer Vipul Bhartiya said the application is being developed to support simultaneous access for nearly 2,000 users without affecting performance.
Apart from attendance monitoring, the app will simplify several administrative tasks for teachers. They will be able to submit applications for leave, Leave Travel Concession (LTC), higher pay scale approvals and other official requests directly through the platform, along with uploading the required documents.
Officials said the digital system will eliminate paperwork, reduce delays and prevent issues related to misplaced applications or missing documents. The app will also serve as a communication platform, enabling teachers to receive updates on committee programmes, official notifications and government circulars in real time.
