A clash broke out between the Ahmedabad Municipal Corporation (AMC) enforcement team and local lorry owners near Ratanba Canal in the Thakkarnagar area during an anti-encroachment drive.
According to reports, an argument started when the AMC team arrived to remove roadside lorries. The verbal dispute quickly escalated into a physical altercation. Lorry owners alleged that an AMC enforcement staff member assaulted one of the vendors during the operation.
Vendors Protest by Dumping Vegetables on Road
Angered by the alleged assault, the lorry owners dumped vegetables from their carts onto the road as a mark of protest. They raised slogans against the AMC and accused the civic body’s enforcement team of using excessive force.
The protesting vendors also called the police to the spot and demanded action against the AMC personnel involved. Police reached the area to bring the situation under control and prevent any further escalation.
