The Scheduled Caste Welfare Department has tightened norms for post-matric scholarship claims, making colleges without an approved fee structure ineligible to claim benefits for Scheduled Caste students.
Institutions found submitting false or fabricated records will face strict action. Students who fail an academic year after receiving the scholarship will also be ineligible to claim the benefit again for the same year.
The Deputy Director of Scheduled Caste Welfare, Ahmedabad, has issued detailed guidelines to registrars, principals and heads of higher secondary schools, colleges, universities, ITIs and other institutions. From the 2025–26 academic year, Aadhaar-based biometric eKYC will be mandatory for all beneficiaries.
Institutions must upload students’ attendance records, and only those with at least 75% Aadhaar-verified attendance will qualify for the scholarship.
