The Ahmedabad–Viramgam Highway has been temporarily closed to traffic after heavy rainfall led to excessive water flow across the route, making vehicular movement unsafe.
In an official advisory, the Ahmedabad District Police said the highway has been shut as a precautionary measure due to the flood-like situation.
Authorities have advised that vehicles travelling in both directions—from Sanand to Viramgam and Viramgam to Sanand—should avoid using the highway until further notice.
The police have urged motorists to follow traffic advisories, use alternate routes where available, and cooperate with authorities until the water level recedes and the highway is declared safe for travel.
