The Gujarat Common Admission Service (GCAS) has extended the undergraduate (UG) admission deadline to July 31, marking the third extension this admission cycle. The decision comes after the state transferred the responsibility of filling vacant seats to universities following the completion of four rounds of centralised admissions.
Under the revised process, universities will conduct admissions directly for the remaining undergraduate seats.
According to the GCAS dashboard, more than 3.26 lakh students have confirmed admissions across state universities, including 51,517 students at Gujarat University.
Officials said that despite four rounds of seat allotment, over 2.9 lakh students were still without admissions. To accommodate these candidates, the government has authorised universities to carry out admissions independently. The original deadline of July 15 was first extended to July 23 and has now been further extended to July 31.
Revised Admission Schedule
Under the updated timeline, students who passed supplementary examinations, wish to register afresh, or were unable to secure admission in earlier rounds can complete online registration, edit their application forms and select colleges from July 24 to July 28.
Colleges will offer and confirm admissions directly between July 24 and July 31.
