A McDonald’s outlet in Ahmedabad’s Naroda area was sealed by the Ahmedabad Municipal Corporation (AMC) after a customer alleged that he received a chicken burger instead of the vegetarian burger he had ordered online.
According to the complaint, the customer placed an online order on the night of July 20 from the McDonald’s outlet near Hanspura, Galaxy Crossroads. The order included a Veg Spicy Paneer Burger, a cheeseburger, and a Coca-Cola. However, upon opening the package, he allegedly found a Spicy Chicken Burger in place of the vegetarian burger.
The customer immediately approached the restaurant and later filed a complaint with the AMC’s Food Department, claiming that he had been served a non-vegetarian item despite ordering vegetarian food.Following the complaint, AMC Food Department officials inspected the outlet the same night. After the inspection, the civic body sealed the restaurant.AMC has not yet revealed the detailed findings of the inspection or announced whether any further action will be taken.
The incident has sparked concerns over food order accuracy, especially in distinguishing between vegetarian and non-vegetarian items.
