The Public Relations Society of India (PRSI) has launched the country’s first National Fact Verification Committee at a conference on “Fact-Checking in the Age of AI: Combating Misinformation in a Digital-First World.”
The conference was organised by the PRSI Ahmedabad Chapter in association with Anant National University and supported by the IIMCAA Gujarat Chapter.
The newly formed committee aims to promote responsible communication, fact-checking, media literacy and public awareness to combat misinformation driven by artificial intelligence.
The event brought together policymakers, media professionals, communication experts, researchers and students to discuss emerging challenges such as deepfakes, voice clones and the growing spread of AI-generated misinformation.
