The Gujarat Public Service Commission (GPSC) has introduced a new initiative called ‘Avasar’ to help candidates who narrowly missed selection or were placed on waiting lists in government recruitment exams find employment opportunities.
The initiative aims to connect deserving candidates with public and private sector employers, ensuring that qualified applicants who performed well in GPSC exams get another chance at employment.
The ‘Avasar’ facility has been integrated into the OJAS portal, where candidates can voluntarily give consent to share their details, qualifications and recruitment information with potential employers.
GPSC has also announced that all future recruitment applications on the OJAS portal will include an option allowing candidates to consent to sharing their information with interested organisations.
Employers from government bodies, public sector units and private companies can approach GPSC to access the database of candidates who have opted into the ‘Avasar’ programme.
The initiative is expected to create more job opportunities for deserving candidates while helping employers recruit skilled professionals who narrowly missed selection in government recruitment exams.
