Security agencies conducted a thorough search at Jamnagar’s main post office on Wednesday evening after a series of bomb threat messages linked to postal consignments were reported from different parts of Gujarat.
Teams from the Bomb Disposal Squad, Special Operations Group (SOG) and local police carried out the operation as part of heightened security measures.Using bomb detection equipment and sniffer dogs, officials inspected parcels and other postal items stored at the facility. Police said the search was conducted as a precautionary measure following recent threat alerts received across the state.
Officials confirmed that no explosive or suspicious material was found during the operation. They clarified that the search was routine and precautionary, and there was no immediate threat to public safety.After the inspection, postal services resumed as usual without any disruption.
Police urged citizens not to believe rumours and appealed to the public to report any suspicious object, parcel or information to the authorities immediately.
