The Gujarat chapter of CREDAI has proposed a series of “Samvad” (dialogue) programmes with Gujarat RERA to improve awareness of real estate rules and strengthen communication between developers and the regulator.
The proposal was made during a recent meeting between CREDAI Gujarat, CREDAI Ahmedabad representatives and Gujarat RERA officials.
The sessions will mainly be held in fast-growing areas such as Kalol, Sanand, Gandhinagar and other developing regions around Ahmedabad, where more builders are entering the organised housing market.
CREDAI Gujarat President Tejas Joshi said the meetings will help both developers and regulators understand each other’s challenges. Developers will get a better understanding of RERA rules, documentation and procedures, while also sharing practical issues faced during project execution.
Industry representatives believe regular interaction with Gujarat RERA will help clear doubts early and reduce future disputes.
Property-related complaints from homebuyers continue to reach Gujarat RERA, highlighting the need for better consumer protection. At the same time, developers say they also face challenges such as payment delays by buyers and project-related disputes.
According to CREDAI, the proposed “Samvad” sessions will improve communication, reduce misunderstandings and help resolve issues faster for both developers and homebuyers.
The association said Gujarat RERA has responded positively to the proposal, and the programmes are expected to begin in areas near Ahmedabad.
CREDAI also requested Gujarat RERA, along with the state and central governments, to grant a six-month extension for ongoing real estate projects, saying developers need more time to overcome practical difficulties.
