The Ahmedabad Municipal Corporation (AMC) is set to bring all major public transport services under a single Mobility-as-a-Service (MaaS) platform, creating an integrated urban transport network for commuters.
The platform will operate on a commission-free cooperative business model, under which drivers will become stakeholders and co-owners instead of paying commissions to the platform. According to the company, the model is expected to enhance drivers’ earnings while providing commuters with reliable, affordable and seamless transport services.
As part of AMC’s smart mobility initiative, the MaaS platform will integrate AMTS and BRTS buses, taxis, bicycles, Metro Rail and GSRTC bus services into a unified digital ecosystem. The civic body believes the project will improve public transport efficiency, ease traffic congestion and promote sustainable urban mobility across Ahmedabad.
