The mock round for admissions to degree and diploma pharmacy courses in Gujarat concluded with 6,784 of the 8,637 available seats being allotted, offering candidates an opportunity to understand the admission process before the commencement of the actual counselling rounds. A total of 9,464 students participated in the mock round, while the Admission Committee prepared a merit list of 13,488 candidates based on their GUJCET scores. Since the NEET results are still awaited, admissions to 58 All India Quota seats in government and grant-in-aid pharmacy colleges were processed accordingly.
Candidates have now been asked to submit fresh choices for the first round of admissions by June 30, with the seat allotment results scheduled to be announced on July 2. The committee has clarified that Shreemati Champaben Gajera College, Amreli, and Prime College, Navsari, will not participate in the first round as both institutions are yet to receive approval from the Pharmacy Council of India (PCI).
Meanwhile, government pharmacy colleges in Surat and Gandhinagar have increased their intake capacity from 60 to 100 seats each, and the additional seats will be available from the upcoming admission round. During the mock round, all 306 seats in government colleges were allotted. Grant-in-aid institutions allotted 610 of their 702 seats, while self-financed colleges filled 5,180 of 6,114 degree seats along with all 412 Tuition Fee Waiver (TFW) seats. However, demand for diploma programmes remained relatively low, with only 235 of the 1,049 available diploma seats being allotted.
