The Institute of Chartered Accountants of India (ICAI) has announced the results of the CA Intermediate Examination 2026, with Ahmedabad students delivering an impressive performance by securing three positions in the All India Top 50.
According to ICAI, the national pass percentage stood at 8.47 per cent for candidates appearing in both groups, while Group 1 recorded a pass percentage of 10.25 per cent and Group 2 registered 16.11 per cent.
Ahmedabad Branch reported a pass percentage of 6.55 per cent for both groups, 9.09 per cent for Group 1 and 21.90 per cent for Group 2. In comparison, the pass percentage for both groups during the January 2026 examination was 13.19 per cent.
Among the city’s top performers, Moksh Rathod secured All India Rank (AIR) 5. Having earlier achieved AIR 8 in the CA Foundation examination, Rathod said disciplined self-study, daily revision and effective time management helped him achieve the feat. He studied for eight to ten hours daily during the final three months of preparation and largely avoided social engagements to remain focused on his goal.
Coming from a family of Chartered Accountants, Rathod hopes to build a career in taxation and pursue articleship opportunities in areas such as mergers and acquisitions with a Big Four firm. He also aims to secure a place among the top ranks in the CA Final examination.
Stuti Goenka secured AIR 10 with 484 marks. She attributed her success to consistent preparation, studying for 10 to 12 hours every day and maintaining strict discipline throughout the preparation period. Stuti said the support of her family played a crucial role in helping her stay focused. She now plans to pursue articleship with a Big Four firm and specialise in taxation or finance.
Kanhaiya Sharma secured AIR 40 and credited his achievement to regular study, guidance from teachers and a disciplined routine. He said he devoted eight to ten hours daily to preparation and ensured that classroom learning, homework and revision were completed on the same day. His accomplishment has been widely appreciated, particularly given his modest family background. His father runs a business related to polishing wooden temples, while his mother is a homemaker.
The achievements of Moksh Rathod, Stuti Goenka and Kanhaiya Sharma have brought pride to Ahmedabad, with all three students earning places among the country’s top performers in the CA Intermediate Examination 2026.
