A man was found dead under mysterious circumstances inside a parked car beneath a Metro bridge near City Gold Theatre in Ahmedabad’s Navrangpura area on Monday, prompting a police investigation.
According to officials, local residents spotted the man lying motionless inside a blue-coloured car parked near a Metro pillar and alerted the police. A team immediately reached the spot and began inquiries into the incident.
The deceased was identified as Vikas, a resident of Navrangpura, through an identity card recovered from the vehicle. During the preliminary examination, investigators found no visible external injury marks on the body, making the cause of death unclear.
Police also recovered a liquor bottle from inside the car. While no evidence of foul play has emerged so far, officials said all angles are being examined and the death is being treated as suspicious until the exact cause is determined.
Initial investigations suggest the man may have consumed alcohol and remained inside the vehicle after it reportedly ran out of fuel. However, police said it would be premature to draw conclusions before the forensic and medical examinations are completed.
A team from the Forensic Science Laboratory (FSL) visited the scene to collect evidence, and the body was sent for post-mortem examination.
Police said further investigation is underway, and the exact cause and circumstances of the death will be established after the forensic analysis and post-mortem report are received.
