Western Railway has announced the introduction of a new daily express train between Sabarmati in Ahmedabad and Lalgarh in Bikaner, aimed at enhancing rail connectivity between Gujarat and Rajasthan.
The inaugural service will be flagged off by Railway Minister Ashwini Vaishnaw from Lalgarh station on June 21, 2026. The flag-off ceremony is scheduled to take place at around 9:30 am following the International Yoga Day programme. According to railway officials, the new train service is expected to improve travel convenience for passengers commuting between key cities and towns in the two states.
Under its regular schedule, Train No. 19407 Sabarmati–Lalgarh Express will commence operations from June 22. The train will depart Sabarmati daily at 5:55 pm and reach Lalgarh at 8:10 am the following day.
The return service, Train No. 19408 Lalgarh–Sabarmati Express, will begin from June 23. It will leave Lalgarh every day at 9:05 pm and arrive at Sabarmati at 11:30 am the next day.
During its journey, the train will halt at several important stations, including Mehsana, Patan, Bhildi, Dhanera, Raniwara, Marwar Bhinmal, Modran, Jalore, Mokalsar, Samdari, Luni, Jodhpur, Gotan, Merta Road, Nagaur, Nokha and Bikaner. The new service is expected to provide better connectivity for passengers travelling between northern Gujarat and western Rajasthan, while also benefiting business travellers, tourists and local commuters along the route.
