The Indian Railways is set to introduce a new train service between Sabarmati in Gujarat and Lalgarh in Rajasthan, enhancing rail connectivity and offering greater convenience to passengers travelling between the two states. The service is expected to be launched soon by Union Railway Minister Ashwini Vaishnaw.
Ahead of the launch, the Railway Board has approved the train numbering and finalised key operational details. The new service will run as Train No. 19407/19408 Sabarmati–Lalgarh Express.
Timings and Schedule
Train No. 19407 (Sabarmati–Lalgarh Express)
The train will depart from Sabarmati at 5:55 pm and arrive at Lalgarh at 8:10 am the following day. During its journey, it will reach Bhildi at 8:50 pm and Bikaner at 7:30 am.
Train No. 19408 (Lalgarh–Sabarmati Express)
The return service will leave Lalgarh at 9:05 pm and reach Sabarmati at 11:30 am the next day. It will arrive at Bikaner at 9:25 pm and Bhildi at 8:45 am en route.
The train will operate on a daily basis, providing direct connectivity between several important towns and cities in Gujarat and Rajasthan.

Coach Composition and Facilities
The train will consist of 23 modern LHB coaches, offering improved safety and passenger comfort. Its operations have been integrated with the rake link of the Sabarmati–Delhi Ashram Express to ensure efficient utilisation of railway resources.
The Railways is expected to commence the service at the earliest. Officials have indicated that a special train may be operated initially if required before the regular service begins.
The new direct rail link is expected to benefit thousands of passengers travelling between Gujarat and Rajasthan by providing a convenient and seamless travel option.
