A private school in Ahmedabad’s Ghatlodia area has come under scrutiny after a video allegedly showing two female staff members misbehaving with a 69-year-old retired teacher went viral on social media. Following the incident, Ahmedabad City District Education Officer (DEO) Rohit Chaudhary initiated an inquiry and issued a show-cause notice to the school.
According to preliminary information, the retired teacher had visited IDP School to obtain her experience certificate. She reportedly requested a correction in the document, following which two staff members allegedly behaved in an inappropriate manner, asked her to leave the premises and challenged her to approach the police.
The video of the incident quickly circulated on social media, sparking public outrage and prompting action from education authorities.
Officials said that when DEO Chaudhary visited the school to conduct an inspection, school staff allegedly attempted to stop him from entering the campus. Preliminary inquiries suggest the incident may be connected to an internal dispute involving two brothers associated with the school’s management, although the matter is still being investigated.
Chaudhary said the education department acted promptly after the video surfaced online. Statements from the two staff members have already been recorded, and the statement of the retired teacher will be taken as part of the ongoing inquiry.
