The Amdavad Municipal Corporation (AMC) on Tuesday sealed four unauthorised paying guest (PG) accommodations operating near Ramdev Nagar Crossroads in the Satellite area following repeated violations of civic regulations.
According to an AMC statement, the Estate and Urban Development Department of the South West Zone received complaints about illegal PG facilities being run from houses numbered 12, 16, 17 and 18 in Jodhpur Kunj Society, located in the Jodhpur ward.
Following the complaints, the civic body issued notices to the property owners under the provisions of the Gujarat Provincial Municipal Corporations (GPMC) Act, directing them to stop the unauthorised PG operations.
However, despite receiving three notices, the owners allegedly failed to comply with the instructions and continued operating the facilities.
As a result, AMC officials carried out an enforcement drive on June 9, vacated the premises and sealed all four properties to prevent their further use as illegal PG accommodations.
The civic body said the action was taken to ensure compliance with municipal regulations and to curb unauthorised commercial activities in residential areas.
