Motorists in Ahmedabad will face temporary traffic restrictions on the Anupam-Kankaria Bridge as construction activities related to the Mumbai-Ahmedabad Bullet Train Project are scheduled to be carried out over the coming days.
According to officials, steel bridge construction and bridge-shifting work will be undertaken on the Anupam (Apparel Park) Bridge, located between Kankaria and Anupam Cinema, as part of the Sabarmati-Vatva section of the high-speed rail corridor.
To facilitate the work, the carriageway of the Anupam-Kankaria Bridge from Anupam Cinema towards Kankaria will remain completely closed to vehicular traffic between 2 am and 6 am on June 3, June 5, June 10, June 13 and June 14.
Authorities said the closure is necessary for the phased erection, launching and dismantling of steel bridge components. While a traffic diversion plan for the project had been approved earlier in February, the work could not be executed at that time due to technical reasons.
Traffic Diversions
During the scheduled closure period, vehicles travelling towards Kankaria from Anupam Cinema should take the diversion via Maharana Pratap (Kangaroo) Circle, Madarasi Mandir, Jhagadia Bridge and Dedki Garden.
Similarly, commuters heading towards Khokhra, Hatkeshwar and CTM from the Anupam Bridge side should use the route via Dedki Garden Crossroads, Siddhivinayak Circle, Railway Colony Three Roads, LG Chowki Junction and Jhagadia Bridge.
Officials have advised commuters to plan their journeys in advance and follow the designated diversion routes to minimise inconvenience and avoid traffic congestion during the construction period.
