Air India has announced that its direct Ahmedabad–London Gatwick flight service will remain suspended on select dates in August 2026 due to operational challenges and higher operating costs.
According to the airline, flight AI 159 from Ahmedabad to London Gatwick and return flight AI 160 from London to Ahmedabad will be cancelled on Saturdays between August 8 and August 29, 2026.
The Ahmedabad-to-London flight is scheduled to depart at 1:10 pm and arrive at London Gatwick at 6:25 pm. The return flight from London departs at 8:00 pm and reaches Ahmedabad at 9:20 am the following day.
The airline said the temporary suspension is part of a wider revision in its flight schedule between June and August 2026. The changes are being made due to operational constraints, including airspace restrictions and rising operational expenses.
The Ahmedabad–London direct route is considered an important connection for business travellers, students, and the large Gujarati community living in the United Kingdom. The temporary suspension may affect passengers planning travel during the late summer season.
Air India said affected passengers will be offered alternative flight arrangements, complimentary date changes, or full refunds, depending on eligibility.
The airline has also advised travellers to check updated flight schedules and flight status before travelling to avoid last-minute inconvenience.
