A major fire broke out at a paint manufacturing factory in the Moraiya industrial area near Sanand on Tuesday, once again highlighting industrial safety concerns in one of Ahmedabad rural’s largest manufacturing hubs.
The blaze erupted at the Esdee paint factory, which reportedly stored large quantities of highly flammable chemicals used in paint production. Within minutes, the fire spread rapidly and engulfed the entire unit, sending thick black smoke across the surrounding area.
Panic gripped workers and nearby residents after massive flames were seen rising from the factory premises. Several employees and locals rushed out of the area as the fire intensified.
Following the incident, multiple fire brigade teams from Sanand and nearby locations were deployed to the spot. Firefighters launched a large-scale operation using water and foam to prevent the flames from spreading to adjoining industrial units.
Officials have not yet confirmed whether any workers are trapped inside the factory.
The exact cause of the fire remains unclear, though authorities are investigating possibilities including a short circuit or a chemical reaction.
