The Gujarat Secondary and Higher Secondary Education Board (GSHSEB) has declared the Class 10 and 12 examination results, and students are expected to receive their marksheets within the next week. This year, the board is set to introduce significant modifications to the marksheet format, bringing it closer to the pattern followed by CBSE.
Among the key changes, the format of students’ names will be revised. Earlier, Gujarat Board marksheets displayed the surname before the student’s first name. From this year onwards, the marksheet will mention the first name first, followed by the surname.
Another major update is the introduction of separate fields for Name, Father’s Name and Surname instead of displaying the complete name in a single line. Officials said the change is aimed at making identification easier, particularly for students applying for higher studies or employment opportunities outside Gujarat or overseas.
The board has also replaced the existing hologram security feature with a QR code. The QR code can be scanned to verify the authenticity of the marksheet, helping authorities identify fake or duplicate documents more effectively.
In addition to these changes, the size of the marksheet will be increased, while minor updates in colour scheme and overall design will also be introduced. According to the board, the new format comes with enhanced security features.
